Our Semi Independent Living program provides individuals with much more freedom and much more responsibility than is possible in the Medicaid sponsored programs. At Barrington Oaks and Dove Manor, the residents learn the realities of earning a living, paying bills, and entering into adult relationships in apartments which they share with two other individuals with complementing interests. They work, play, and worship in the community along side everyone else who lives in the neighborhood. The Semi Independent Living program is a private pay program without government funding. Most of these individuals are employed at local business. They are tax payers, not users of our tax dollars.
